Discussion on restructuring IFFI at Cannes

New Delhi, May 17: International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Goa today received global attention at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, with film makers and industry representatives holding a brainstorming session on how to bring it at par with other major film festivals of the world.

During a panel discussion held today at Cannes on restructuring of IFFI Goa, Indian film makers namely Govind Nihalani, Nagesh Kukunoor, German film maker Roland Reber and president of Film Federation of India L Suresh, debated ways to garner greater global recognition for the Goa film festival.

According to I&B ministry sources, the panel felt that the Goa calendar should be shared internationally, so that it can come into notice of international film buffs and can be included along with other known international festivals like Cannes and Berlin film festivals.
