The date of implementation of bank-linked subsidy scheme for backward classes has been extended upto 3 months. Principal Secretary BC Welfare Dr. T Radha issued orders in this connection. Although this scheme is also available for minorities but government has extended the date of implementation of scheme till April 15 only.
Minority Welfare Department has begun efforts to seek 3 month’s time for minorities along the lines of BC community. Surprisingly the scheme is of same type but the officers meted out discrimination towards minorities while extending the date. The last date of submission of applications was March 31, however the last date for BC community has been extended upto 3 months while for minorities it has been extended till April 15, that too after repeated representations. Government should also give 3 months time to Minority Finance Corporation to implement the scheme.
