`Disciplined` Conte can deliver instant success at Chelsea: Fabregas

London : Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has backed the appointment of former Juventus player Antonio Conte as his side’s new manager, saying the Italian will not require a season of transition and can deliver instant success at the Stamford Bridge club.

Conte, who is currently in charge of Italy, had earlier succeeded Jose Mourinho as the new Chelsea manager after reportedly signing a three-year deal worth 15 million pounds.

After Chelsea’s repeated poor performances in the Premier League, Mourinho was sacked by the club and former Netherlands boss Guus Hiddink was appointed as the interim manager until the end of the season.

“But for sure, all I know is that he wants to win straight away. No more transition, no more excuses, he wants to win, win, win and for that we will need to be prepared since day one,” Fabregas was quoted as saying by goal.com.

Describing Conte as a `winner`, Fabregas said the 46-year-old loves playing offensive football as the teams led by him were so well organized, adding that Chelsea require the guidance of such kind of people.

“From what I’ve heard, and what is proved by so many professionals talking about him, is that he’s disciplined, he’s a winner and he’s a competitor. And that’s what we need,” he added.

Insisting that there was a need to give his side an appropriate push, Fabregas believes Conte can move Chelsea into the right direction and can make them work harder in order to achieve victories.

Conte would join at Stamford Bridge along with his long-term assistants, Angelo Alessio and Massimo Carrera, after helming Italy’s Euro campaign 2016.(ANI)
