New Delhi, March 15: With questions being raised over city’s disaster management system following tragedy in Japan, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said the system is being improved upon under the guidence of Union Government.
“We are working on the entire disaster management system. It is being done under the guidence of the Union Governmment,” she told reporters replying to a question on whether Delhi’s disaster management apparatus was ready to face any kind of situation.
Earlier, the assembly condoled the death and destructions in Japan following the massive quake and tsunami.
“It is an unprecedented human tragedy and the people of Delhi are with people of Japan,” Dikshit said in the assembly.
Several members appealed to the government to reasses the prepardness of the city in dealing with any possible eventuality.
