After a 2-1 series defeat to Bangladesh, South Africa ODI skipper Hashim Amla has said that the main reason for their loss against the minnows was their misjudgment of the conditions.
The hosts thrashed the Proteas by nine wickets in the third ODI on Wednesday to claim a 2-1 series victory, which was also their first ever series victory over the opponents in any format.
Dejected with the defeat, Amla said that it was indeed very disappointing, adding that they misjudged the conditions but all the credit goes to Bangladesh, Sport24 reported.
He said that they were very rusty throughout the series and did not play good cricket.
However, he was confident that they would rebound in the two-match Test series starting next Tuesday as it is a different ball game all together and they also have a good idea about the wickets.
Bangladesh have been in sublime form, winning four home series in a row against Zimbabwe, Pakistan, India and now South Africa. (ANI)
