Disadvantages of not representing the rights of Muslim in the new State

With the announcement of the Central Govt. for the formation of separate Telangana State, everyone is expressing his opinion in his own way. In such a situation, the Muslims living in the districts of Telangana should not keep quiet like spectators. They should formulate a comprehensive strategy to force the Govt. to protect their interests in the field of education, economy, employment and social development. If the situation is not exploited after the formation of the new state or if the policy of “Wait and See” is adopted, it is likely that once again we will have to face long term disadvantages. After the announcement of Central Govt. for the formation of separate Telangana State, all the sections of society have started preparing their own strategies for getting their issues resolved but the Muslims are not showing interest in getting their legitimate rights which could cause a greater damage to the community. Congress Govt. made an attempt to give 4% reservation to the Muslims but president of TRS, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao promised to give 12% reservation to the Muslims. Now the time has come to fulfill this promise. It is a well known fact that the Muslims are living in the worst condition than the daliths. If the time is fixed to fulfill the promises, it will benefit the Muslims. Telangana Movement became successful and Muslims have also played a key role in its success. It is duty of the Muslim leaders associated with Telangana Movement to ensure appointments of the Muslims adequately. The Central Govt. has promised that it will ensure the formation of the new State within 45 days. If the Muslim leaders formulate their strategy within 15 days, it would be possible to get their benefits. It is a fact that Muslims are in large number in Telangana districts and no political party can afford to neglect them. According to the Census Reports, the largest concentration of the Muslims is in Hyderabad which is 41.16% whereas the least concentrated area is Nalagonda district where only 5.25% Muslims are inhabited. In Mahboob Nagar District the population of the Muslim is 8% and in Ranga Reddy district it is 11.43%. It is therefore the need of the hour that the Muslims should wakeup and plan for a better future in the proposed Telangana State.
