Kakinada, April 20: Collector M.Ravichandra said that Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment had sanctioned a special project for the welfare of the disabled in the name of district disabled rehabilitation centre (DDRC).
Addressing the officials of the Department for the Disabled here today, he said that Uma Educational and Technical Society was identified as the implementing agency for the three-year project.
As a part of the project, eligible among the disabled would be listed and the implements required for their rehabilitation and self employment schemes would be identified.
A detailed plan of action would be prepared by the district management team and sent for State and union Governments clearance.
After receiving the approval, the rehabilitation project implementation would commence he added.
