28-year-old Mohammed Mazharuddin polishes his skill at the foot of Charminar and entices the tourists to take a souvenir along with them. Mazharuddin has been suffering from polio since he was one year old. However he thrived against all odds and never considered it a handicap. He worked hard.
SSC pass Mazhar told that earlier he used to sell water packets for 12 years at the same spot. However he decided to do something different. He learned the skill of writing names on rice grain. Today he sits near the Charminar grill boundary and writes names on rice grain then he puts the rice in a transparent glass tube and dips it in particular chemical. With this he makes key chains.
The tourists very enthusiastically purchase key chains from Mazhar by making him write their or their friends’ names on the rice grain and take it as a souvenir or gift along with them. Mazhar wishes that the government provides employment to educated disabled like him.
