Soon after the publication of the report in Siasat Daily regarding the sorry state of affairs of Ahmed Shareef Library located at Hajj House, the staff invited attention of higher officials of the department towards the issue. Director Minority Welfare and Special Officer Waqf Board Mr. Jalaluddin Akber inspected the library along with Waqf Board officials and lamented upon seeing its miserable condition.
Mr. Jalaluddin Akber after getting the details about the library decided to upgrade the library and assured availability of old and rare books for research scholars. Special Officer is keen to seek coordination of Urdu Academy for developing the library. If Urdu Academy is ready to takeover the library then the library will be handed over to it so that the library could be beneficial for people under the supervision of the academy.
