Director of Jamia Nizamia appeals for vaccination of children against Measles and Rubella viruses

Hyderabad: The officials of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Telangana contacted Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Director of Jamia Nizamia for seeking his support for creating awareness about vaccination against Measles and Rubella diseases.

Mufti Khaleel Ahmed told that at international level, 132200 children get affected every year with these diseases. He also told that virus Rubella can affect elderly people also. He further said that if a pregnant woman gets affected with virus Rubella, both mother and child would suffer. In such a case, the chances of abortion or birth of a dead child get increased. Children affected by Rubella virus may face mental weaknesses also.

He appealed to the people to get their children of 9-12 years old to get them vaccinated.
