Srinagar: Centre’s special representative on Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma on Thursday visited Tral town in Jammu and Kashmir’s Oulwama district amid a protest shutdown.
As soon as the news about his visit spread in Tral town, a spontaneous protest shutdown affected normal life there.
Officials, however, said four delegations met Sharma and discussed many issues like cricketing facilities, vacation of security force camps, land compensation etc.
Tral has traditionally been known as a hotbed of separatist sentiment in the Valley and during the last three years, many top commanders of militant outfits like Burhan Wani and Zakir Musa hailed from the town.
