Kolkata, August 11: Union Minister of State for Health Dinesh Trivedi today visited the state-run Infectious Disease Hospital at Beliaghata in the city, the only facility available in the state to detect the disease.
Trivedi talked to the doctors, nurses, patients and para-medical staff in the hospital to assess the ground situation and the facilities available there.
Meanwhile, out of 64 suspected cases, 12 persons have tested positive at the NICED. Of them eight persons have been discharged after treatment.
The nodal officer for swine flu information, Tapas Sen said that two more swine flu suspects, who were kept in home quarantine, were today admitted to the ID Hospital after they tested positive by the NICED.
With the discharge of a confirmed swine flu patient after cure, altogether four persons are under treatment at the ID Hospital, Sen said.
