Hyderabad, August 03: Five days after his controversial absence at the State- Level Steering Committee (SLBC) meeting in the State Secretariat , APSRTC managing director V Dinesh Reddy today called on Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy at the State Secretariat today and apologised.
The chief minister is learnt to have let him off with the warning that such “mistakes’’ not be repeated again.
Dinesh Reddy told Rajasekhara Reddy he could not attend the SLBC meeting on July 28 as he was on leave due to illness and had informed the RTC chairman about the same.
It may be recalled that the chief minister was irked over the RTC managing director’s absence at the SLBC meeting. Being sick, the MD had sent subordinate officials to the meeting.
However, he allegedly did not bother to inform superiors, including Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy, about his inability to attend the meeting. The chief minister asked the chief secretary to probe into the incident and take action against Dinesh Reddy, if necessary.
Later, Dinesh Reddy attempted to meet Rajasekhara Reddy, but in vain. It was only today that he was granted an appointment and given a chance to explain his position.
