Dhaka, January 05: In-form Sri Lanka opener Tillakaratne Dilshan has been ruled out of today’s game against India due to groin injury Dilshan has picked the injury during his match-winning 104 in the opening match of the tri-nation tournament against Bangladesh yesterday.
The right-handed opener’s suffered the injury in the 34th over when he has clipped Abdur Razzak to deep square-leg and turned for the second run. He pulled up in pain and it was revealed later that it was a groin injury. Dilshan completed his century with the help of a runner.
”We have had eight players injured in the last 60 playing days,” captain Kumar Sangakkara said after the match.. ”It’s rather unfortunate, but we can do nothing about it. He (Dilshan) has pulled up an abductor muscle in the groin region. Hopefully, he can come back into the game at some point in the tournament. Hopefully, others will grab the chances,” he added. Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets yesterday.
