Dilip Kumar is stable, doctors scrap ventilator rumours

MUMBAI: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital on Wednesday after an acute case of dehydration and fever.

His condition was said to be stable contrary to the rumours doing rounds that his condition worsened and he has been put on ventilator.

According to Indian Express, the team of doctors treating the 94-year-old acting legend said, “Dilip Kumar is not on ventilator. He is stable right now.”

In the last few years, the veteran actor who has been suffering from age-related problems and has been admitted to the hospital several times. In 2016, he was hospitalised twice. He even celebrated his 94th birthday on December 11 last year in hospital.

The thespian known as the ‘Tragedy King’, Kumar has acted in over 65 films in his career and is known for his iconic roles in movies like ‘Devdas ‘(1955), ‘Naya Daur’ (1957), ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ (1960), ‘Ganga Jamuna’ (1961), ‘Kranti’ (1981), and ‘Karma’ (1986).

Last seen on the big screen in ‘Qila’ in 1998, the actor was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015.
