Digvijaya thanks complainants; ready to face case

Stating that he was extending thanks to the persons filed police cases against him in Hyderabad, AICC general secretary and Telangana Congress party affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh asked the police to invite the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, National Security Council advisor and Intelligence Bureau chief as witnesses in the case.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Digvijay said he told only facts and he has evidences too. “I will face the case as per law”, he said. Digvijay asked MIM to tell as to why it was not taking care of the issue of police trappings of Muslim youth in Hyderabad city. He alleged that the MIM was more interested in business interests and it helped BJP in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh elections by contesting in the elections. He further criticized MIM by saying that the MIM always extends its services to the ruling party whatever it may be.

It may be recalled that Digvijay tweeted posts alleging that the Telangana police created a fake ISIS website and provoked Muslim youth through it. The Telangana IT Minister KT Ramarao re-tweeted against Digvijay’s tweets. The police took Digvijay’s tweets seriously and they were contemplating to file three types of cases. The first case was defamation case for making baseless allegations against police department and second one was for provoking the communal enmity by misguiding a section of people. The third one was for hatching a conspiracy to disturb the law and order in the state. The police department decided to take legal opinion in this regard.

On the other hand, Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath filed a case against Digvijay Singh at Jubilee Hills Police Station. The police informed that they filed cases under 505 1A, 1B and Class 2 Sections against Digvijay Singh.  (NSS)
