Digvijay chides media for Modi focus

AICC general secretary Digivijay Singh today expressed displeasure over a section of the media for giving undue importance to Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Talking to media persons at Shamshabad International Airport here on Wednesday, Digivijay Singh was seen a bit impatient saying that the media people were giving unnecessary publicity to Narendra Modi.
Digvijay reached Hyderabad while going to Karimnagar to accompany Sonia Gandhi for addressing a public meeting as part of her political campaigning for general elections. On the Congress and CPI seat sharing issue, Singh said there was a small problem on allocation of one seat. But that was also settled as both parties have agreed upon to cooperate in the elections, he maintained.
It may be mentioned here that Modi, who is making a whirlwind tour at many States, has been vocal against the Congress at every campaign and targeting Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Obviously annoyed at this, Singh stated that besides Telangana, Sonia will also address a few public meetings in some districts of Andhra Pradesh for the general elections.
When asked, Digvijay said a section of the media was trying to give more impetus to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Finding fault with Modi for his persistent tirade against the Congress leadership, Digvijay Singh said the picture will be clear after results of the general elections on May 16 who will be at the helm of affairs.
Though media is predicting that the NDA combine will come to power it will be clear after May 16 when results will be announced, he said, adding that it will to be known which party has more capability and strength and who will win and who will be defeated in the general elections. Let us see whether the BJP or the Congress will come to power at the Centre, after the elections. Singh exuded confidence that the Congress will sure come to power at the Centre. (NSS)
