(Siasat News) In a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, IAS, Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare it was decided to accelerate the Work relating to recording of Electronic mapping and digitization of Wakf properties. Mr. Hasan Ali Baig, Survey Commissioner of Wakf, officials of Remote Censing Agency, Centre for Good Governance, A.P. Remote Censing Application Centre, National Informatics Centre, Mr. M.A. Rahman Owais, Incharge Central Computing Facility and Incharge Computer Section Wakf Board and others attended the meeting.
The Secretary of Minorities Welfare told that in ordered to protect Wakf properties, a decision has been taken to digitalize all the Wakf properties. Govt. has allocated Rs. 11 Crore to Wakf Survey Commissioner for this work in the budget of 2013-2014, out of which Rs. 10 crore would be spend on conducting the Survey of Wakf properties and their digitalization. The Secretary of Minorities Welfare has given (15) days time to the concerned Government departments to submit their proposals for the completion of this work. After finalizing the suggestions, a suitable institution would be selected for completing this task.
Mr. Hasan Ali Baig, Survey Commissioner of Wakf gave the details of the survey and told that the first survey has been completed and the work relating to second survey is in progress. He further told that steps are being taken to match the survey details with Revenue records. It is hope that the work relating to digitalization would be completed within (2) months. There are 72000 Wakf properties in the state. Govt. wants to protect these properties by using electronic mapping technology which will protect Wakf properties completely. This work has been undertaken under a central scheme. Secretary of Minorities Welfare instructed the official of Survey commissionerate in consultation with Remote Sensing Agency and Centre for Good Governance.
