Diggy says no clarity on T resolution to Assembly

AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Monday confirmed that there was no clarity yet regarding the Telangana resolution to be sent to the A.P. Assembly to take forward the process of bifurcation of the state.

The central congress leader, who is in charge of party affairs in AP, while interacting with the media explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs has to clarify and clear the confusion over the T resolution to be sent to the State Assembly. In the beginning the schedule given to him was that the T resolution would be sent to the President of India and who in turn would forward the same to the State Assembly, he said.

Digvijay Singh further explained that now the Union Home Minister seemed to have changed the schedule and hence he had sought an appointment with Sushil Kumar Shinde to get a clear clarity in the matter regarding any changes made in the schedule. After ascertaining the facts in the matter, he would brief the media about it , he added .

Referring to Congress MP from Vijayawada, Lagadapati Rajagopal, to re-submit his resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker, the AICC General Secretary appealed to all the MPs from the Seemandhra region to restrain from taking any hasty decision about resigning. He reminded that all the MPs from the Seemansdhra region had committed themselves to the High Command to abide by any decision regarding the T formation. Since the Congress leadership had taken the decision and began the process of bifurcation, the MPs should stand by their promise made earlier, he added.

Digvijay Singh once again reiterated that full justice would be done to the people of Seemandhra region after the bifurcation of the state. The party leaders from the region like ministers, MPs, MLAs and even the Chief Minister should cooperate in highlighting their concerns and apprehensions before the Group of Ministers and find solutions for the same instead resorting to resignations, he observed.
When asked for his reaction regarding Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s comment to strive “to stop the threatening bifurcation cyclone”, the AICC leader evaded a direct action with a smile. At the same time he welcomed Union Minister Panabaka Laxmi’s demand for a special financial package for Seemandhra region and better educational facilities for youth. He felt that the Congress leaders should strive for getting best possible deals for Seemandhra, Telangana and Hyderabad. (NSS).
