The differences between the ruling TRS and MIM have stalled two major projects in the Old City of Hyderabad.
The differences cropped up when the foundation stone laying ceremony for construction of Out-Patient block of Nizamia Tibbi Hospital at Charminar was called off on Wednesday reportedly due to the objection raised by MIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. The ceremony was to be held during the visit of Deputy CM Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy. However, the officials reportedly received a call from the Hyderabad MP wherein he raised objection over foundation stone laying ceremony in his absence. He said that the officials could not conduct the function without the knowledge and presence of local MP.
Similarly, MIM MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan strongly opposed the dream project of a model primary school of Deputy CM Mahmood Ali at Banu Nagar in Madannapet under Yakutpura constituency. When the Deputy CM, Health Minister, Hyderabad Collector Rahul Bojja and other officials visited the spot, the local MLA said that the spot selected by Deputy CM was identified by him and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for the construction of a junior and degree college.
When the Deputy CM asked the Hyderabad Collector to provide an alternate site to the MLA for college building, Mumtaz Khan said he was representing the constituency for the last 22 years and there was no suitable location than the present spot. Therefore, the Deputy CM’s dream project hit a road block due to MIM’s objection. (INN)
