Differences among Left parties intensify over by-polls

The differences that have cropped between the CPI (M) and CPI over by-elections in the State have intensified further.

CPI (M) State Secretary B V Raghavulu on Sunday wrote an open to CPI State Secretary K Narayana condemning his alleged remarks on CPI (M) stand on corruption. In his letter, Raghavulu said that the CPI (M) agenda or stand on corruption was not different from the Left parties’ stand on the issue at the national level. Describing Narayana’s remarks as ‘unfortunate’ he said that instead of going to the media Narayana should have discussed the issue with him to get clarification.

Raghavulu said that the CPI (M) has contested the last by-elections independently with the CPI’s support. However, he said this time CPI was supporting the TDP and the CPI (M) would have to contest the elections on its own.

Raghavulu condemned Narayana’s criticism on CPI (M)’s decision and described it as ‘quite unfortunate’. (INN)
