Did not recommend any one for PCC chief post: Rosaiah

Hyderabad, June 02: Former chief minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday stated that he did not recommend any particular person to success incumbent Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas during his meeting with All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Mr Rosaiah said that he had however appealed to her to appoint an able and efficient candidate for the PCC chief’s post.

Mr Rosaiah also disclosed that he had offered his congratulations to Ms Sonia Gandhi over the party’s good showing in three of the five states for which elections were conducted recently.

The former chief minister also clarified that it was only the media which had created a hype that his Delhi trip had anything to do with a gubernatorial post.

“I had never claimed any post nor was my trip to New Delhi anything to do
with the Governor’s post. I had never asked the party for any post and anytime,” the senior politician stated.

When asked to disclose details of his meeting with the AICC president, Mr Rosaiah stated that, “There is no need to give explanation to media reports,” he said, adding “Whatever post the party gave, I carried them out to the best of my ability.”
