Did Jagan Threaten Ram Gopal Varma?

Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has alleged that YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had threatened film-maker Ram Gopal Varma not to depict his character in Rakta Charitra, based on the faction war between the slain leaders Paritala Ravindra and Maddelacheruvu Suri.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, Rajagopal said that Varma had personally told him about this threat when he had released his book ‘Naa Ishtam”. He said that Varma told him that Jagan had said that his character should not be found in the film ‘Rakta Charitra’, and bowing down to his threats, he had altered several scenes in the film.
Rajagopal also said that Jagan would be barred from politics when investigations against him completed.

He sarcastically said that the YSR Congress has only charge-sheets and not manifestoes. He also said that despite Y S Vijayamma campaigning for the party, YSR Congress would not get any votes as there was no sympathy for it. He said that no criminal would get sympathy from the people.

Roja lashes out at Rajagopal

Film actress and YSR Congress leader Roja has condemned the remarks of Lagadapati. She said that Rajagopal was making such allegations against Jagan for getting publicity. She said that Congress leaders were making all kinds of allegations as they knew pretty well that their party would be routed in the by-elections. (NSS)
