Dialogue is required to solve Kashmir issue, says US leader John McCain

Lahore: The US continues to push for a dialogue between India and Pakistan to solve Kashmir issue. Senator John McCain, who is leading a US Congressional delegation to Islamabad said Washington’s stand that dialogue is a prerequisite for the two nations to solve the Kashmir issue.

As per a report of DC, the delegation had discussed the bilateral issues with Foreign Affairs Minister for Pakistan, Sartaj Aziz. They had also talked about terrorism, Pakistan’s relations with India and Afghanistan and regional peace.

“Kashmir problem should be resolved in a peaceful way through negotiations,” McCain said. In addition to that, he said that the US has not changed its stand regarding the Kashmir issue.

While Aziz told the US delegation that Pakistan’s has successfully dismantled the terrorist network through Operations Zarb-i-Azb and Raddul Fasaad, under a National Action Plan.

Pakistan was also ready to strengthen its ties with the US to tackle new terrorism and ISIS threats, stressed the Foreign Affair Minister.
