Ranchi, February 05:Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who won’t be present on the opening day of the National Games on February 12, would try to watch the games at least for a day, if he gets a break during World Cup matches.
“I won’t be able to make it for the opening day of the Games following (World Cup) matches, but will try to come for a day to watch live action, if ICC guidelines permit,” Dhoni told reporters here today.
Dhoni visited Khelgaon, the venue of the 34th National Games here, accompanied by the state Sports Minister Sudesh Mahto.
“The sporting infrastructure at Khelgaon is world class … National Games is very important for Jharkhand,” he said after the visit and hoped that the state would win several gold medals.
The two-week sporting extravaganza would be kicked off on February 12 and end on February 26.
