Visakhapatnam: Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored a blistering 64 not out as Rising Pune Supergiants ended the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League with a thrilling four-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab in a dead rubber in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.
Needing 23 off the last over, skipper Dhoni kept his composure and cool to help his side cross the line by hitting back-to-back sixes in the last two deliveries off Axar Patel.
Earlier, Kings XI relied on Murali Vijay (59) and Gurkeerat Singh (51) to post a respectable 173-run target for Pune.
With the win, Pune finished seventh in the points table and pushed Kings XI to the last spot. (ANI)
