Gurgaon: Anger prevails among the locals of Gurugram against the government over sealing of the Madina Masjid by the district administration. Local Muslims organised sit-in before the masjid. Meanwhile, Congress leader and former minister Aftab Ahmed from Nooh reached Madina Masjid and interacted with locals. Speaking to media he said sealing of masjid is quite illegal. I condemn the move on behalf of Congress party and urge the government not to intervene in religious affairs.
It must be noted that the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) on Wednesday sealed a masjid in Sheetla Colony in Gurgaon area. About a week ago, the Colony experienced a tension after some Hindu outfits objected over the use of mike and loudspeakers at a three-storied house claiming that ‘Azaan’ and reading namaz was disturbing them.
