Minister for Roads and Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao today attended office after a gap of six months. He entered the D Block Chamber for official duty signaling that all is well.
Dharmana has resigned after being named in the Vancpic case. His resignation was not accepted and the cabinet adopted a resolution not to give permission to the CBI court to prosecute him.
The resolution was sent to Governor ESL Narasimhan, who returned it asking the Government to seek legal opinion. The CBI contended that there need not be any permission as there was precedence. Dharmana attended the court during Vanpic hearing. Ahead of the budget session the minister attended office putting at rest all speculation about his resignation.
Mopidevi Venkatarama, another accused in the same case, is in jail. (INN)
