DGP SSP Yadav appears before Human Rights Commission

Hyderabad, July 07:: The Director General of Police (DGP), Mr S S P Yadav, on Tuesday attended before the State Human Rights Commission following a complaint lodged by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) on Monday.

The DSP, Mr Madhava Reddy, a 1974 bath officer, has been in Vacancy Reserve (VR) – a term used for the police officials where they await posting – for the past 20 months. He was not even receiving his salary for the period, 20 months.

Mr Reddy approached the State Human Rights Commission alleging that the DGP, Mr S S P Yadav, has been subjecting to him untold harassment and was not giving any posting for the past 20 months. He said that he was not paid even his salary for this period.

Following this, the State Human Rights Commission asked the DGP to submit a detailed report on the allegations of the DSP by July 13. The rights panel has asked the DGP to go into all the details of the charges leveled against him by the DSP.

Mr Madhava Reddy, who was working as Mahboobnagar DSP, developed differences with the then Superintendent of Police (SP), Ms Charu Sinha.

Then he was shifted from Mehboobnagar and since then he was not given any posting. When the DSP approached the Tribunal on the matter which directed the Government to pay his salaries. Even the tribunal order was not honoured, he pointed out and appealed to the rights panel to do justice to him.
