Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy on Friday said that the department has made all arrangements for the free and fair conduct of by-elections in the 18 Assembly constituencies and Nellore Lok Sabha seat on June 12.
Talking to media persons after reviewing polling arrangements with officials in Kadapa district, Dinesh Reddy said that check posts have been established by deploying additional police forces in the sensitive areas to ensure that people cast their vote in a free and fair manner. He said that CC cameras would be installed at all polling stations in 12-districts.
Dinesh Reddy informed that the police have seized about Rs 8.13 crore cash and 19 kilogram gold from different places in Kadapa, Nellore and Anantapur districts. He appealed to the voters to use their franchise freely without being influenced by money or liquor being distributed by political parties.
