In order to make the functioning of police transparent and also to improve its efficiency, Mr. V. Dinesh Reddy, DGP inaugurated the new E-Challan System. The proof of traffic violation could be preserved in digital cameras and hence the chances of indulging in arguments with the policemen would come to an end.
Hyderabad City Traffic Police has a unique distinction of its efficiency and functioning in the entire country. Since the traffic police comes in contact with people, it was thought necessary to install latest Digital Cameras, Speed Laser Kits, Tent Meters, Advanced Personal Digital Assistant, Breath Inhaler, Wheel Clamp Outdoor UPS System and UHF sets.
Addressing on this occasion, Mr. C.V. Anand, Additional Commissioner of Police Traffic told that PDA system has been introduced to facilitate city police to collect fines from the commuters who violate traffic rules. People can remit challan amount through credit card also.
For this purpose, an agreement has been made from ICICI bank online challans could also be remitted. In case of Power failure UPS would be available. He told that with the introduction of this system, the use of challan books would come to an end.
