DGP advises cops to avoid firing on students

Hyderabad, July 6: Director General of Police Mr. V Dinesh Reddy on Tuesday arranged a video conference along with Telangana district superintendents of police, commissioners of Cyberabad and Hyderabad police and advised police to deal with the agitation cautiously.

According to highly placed sources Mr. Dinesh Reddy has arranged the video conference for the first time after he took charge as new DGP in which he directed his subordinates regarding dealing with the violence related to separate Telangana demand.

It is said that the state police chief has instructed the district SPs and Commissioners to use non lethal weapons and focus on dispersing the protestors instead of firing.

During the video conference Mr. Dinesh Reddy clearly told Hyderabad commissioner police that 17 paramilitary forces will be deployed in central zone area of the city as this area contains legislative assembly, secretariat, and several important government offices including state police head quarters.

There are 31 paramilitary forces in the city including rapid action force, CRPF, CISF and BSF.
