DFRC takes action against 100 schools over exorbitant fee

The Hyderabad District Fee Regulatory Committee comprising District Collector Mukesh KUmar Meena and and DEO A Subba Reddy has taken action against 100 schools in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Speaking to media persons here, Meena informed that the DFRC has close down 100 schools for violation of DFRC norms. However, 42 schools immediately approached the DFRC and were asked to submit fresh request for recognition. He said that the DFRC might consider the requests if the schools approach the authorities within three days with a proper free structure. He said of 118 schools who were served notices, action has been initiated against 100 erring schools.

He admitted that one Telangana Private Institutions Association went to High Court against the actions of DRFC. However, he said that he would speak to the Principal Secretary of Education Department and Advocate General in this regard.

Meena advised the school managements to install the board displaying the fee structure by July 7. He said that DFRC would hold a meeting with Parents’ Associations on July 10 and the next day grievances cells would be held in all mandals of Hyderabad. He asked Inspector and Deputy Inspector of Schools to take prompt action on the complaint of parents.

Meanwhile, in a different development, the Directorate of School Education has imposed a ban on the use of flash name like ‘Concept’, ‘e-Shastra’, ‘Olympaid’ or ‘Techno’ for the schools. (INN)
