Devotees throng Sai Temples on Guru Purnima; KCR offers special puja

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhara Rao today paid a visit to Sai Baba Temple at Dilsukhnagar here. The Chief Minister offered special prayers to Sai Baba. Temple priests offered the CM special prasadam on the occasion.
Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali accompanied KCR on the occasion. There were long queues at the temple and police officials found difficult to manage the devotees thronged in large numbers. To provide a free and an easy passage to the Chief Minister and his deputy, the officials concerned prevented other devotees for a while. After their departure from the temple, the devotees got their turn to have darshan of Sai Baba. Most of the devotees comprised women clad in silk clothes and their wards in new clothes, while elderly men found in traditional Dhotis and shawls.
Despite being Telangana Bandh, a sizeable number of people made it to the temples that were illuminated in multiple colour lights. Scores of devotees began thronging the temples small and big old and new from morning hours. As religious activities soar high at each and every temple, the devotees caught up in festival mood and fervor in Hyderabad and adjoining Ranga Reddy district. (NSS)
