Telugu Desam MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Wednesday demanded that the State Government order Anti-Corruption Bureau or Vigilance probe into irregularities in the recruitment of posts at Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station at Ibrahimpatnam in Vijayawada.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Devineni said that the government has called applications for 1,760 junior plant assistant posts under the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu at Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station. However, the AP Genco Director G Vaman Rao collected money to the tune of Rs 10 crore from job aspirants by offering them jobs and cheated them, he pointed out.
Devineni said that he had appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to order probe into the issue and take severe action against the director. He said that the Chief Minister responded positively and assured him to look into the issue soon. He warned that the government that the TDP would intensify protest if the government failed to do justice to job aspirants. (INN)
