Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said that the Mumbai marathon which takes place every year is a festival where people celebrate the spirit of freedom.
“It is not just a marathon, it’s a festival where people celebrate spirit of freedom and walk, run and stroll as per their ability,” said Fadnavis.
The marathon started at 5:40 am in which around 40,000 people took part.
This year’s edition of the marathon will both start and finish at the Azad Maidan sports ground in South Mumbai.
