Johannesburg, Dec.11 : Skipper Alastair Cook believes that England have a great opportunity to beat the number one side in the world following South Africa’s humiliating defeat in the recently concluded Test series against India.
The 30-year-old, who has never beaten South Africa in a series, said that the opposition side was in a evolving phase especially after losing some of the greats like Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Makhaya Ntini, Mark Boucher, Sport24 reported.
He, however, added that South Africa were a different side from what he had faced before, and therefore, called on his side to work harder in order to overcome them.
Cook also felt that the upcoming series would help a number of players in the England squad to cement their spot in the national team.
South Africa, who recently lost a Test series against India 0-3, will try to bounce back when they take on England in the four-match series, starting from December 26 in Durban. (ANI)
