Phagwara (Punjab), January 08: A love marriage between a Punjabi girl and Pakistani youth, both working in Dubai, ended in a tragedy on new year’s day when the boy reportedly died of suffocation in the washroom in her home.
They got married on April 14 last year in a court in Dubai, where both of them were settled, and came to India to solemnise their marriage as per Hindu rites today.
But, tragedy befell Mohammed Tariq Hussain and Priyanka Sharma on January 1 when the Pakistani youth died due to suffocation following leakage of gas from a gas water heater in the toilet in his wife’s house here, her family said.
January one was also Hussain’s birthday for which preparations were on in full swing.
Priyanka worked as an airhostess in Dubai. She later joined a real estate company as manager.
