Despite Sonia’s criticism, PM goes hammer and tongs at Congress

Thrippunithura (Kochi): Even as Congress president Sonia Gandhi alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ‘indulging in character assassination of his opponents’, continuing his tirade against the grand old party in poll-bound Kerala, the Prime Minister on Wednesday said wherever there is a Congress government there is corruption.

Reminding people of the 2G and AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal scams, the Prime Minister said there is not a single incident of corruption in which the Congress-ruled Centre was not involved.

Taking a dig at the Congress-ruled Kerala Government, Prime Minister Modi said Congressmen sitting in Delhi are involved in the coal scam, while their colleagues in Kerala are involved in the solar scam.

“Both the Congress and the Left are busy providing services to each other, and they have no intention of providing services to the people of the state, he said.

After you supported the BJP in the civic polls, the Left and the Right (Congress) feared committing sins, and came on the right track, said the Prime Minister, adding, “We have forced those who are indulged in corruption to provide service to the people.”

In an effort to appease the electorates, the Prime Minister said, “I have good news for you; six families of Kerala and three Tamil Nadu residents, who were stranded in Libya, will return home safely by tomorrow or day after. Besides, we were also able to rescue Kerala nurses from terrorists and brought them back home safely.”

Heaping praise over BJP Governments in various states, he said: “There are better employment opportunities, 24-hour electricity, better condition of farmers and good education facilities in all the BJP-ruled states, and where there is Congress there is corruption.”

Patting his own back, Prime Minister Modi said, “Our army jawans were demanding One Rank One Pension (OROP) over 40 years, many Governments came, Congress was in power too, but they didn’t even care about interest of soldiers. It was when we came to power, we fulfilled our promise and implemented OROP for those who live and die for us.” (ANI)
