New Delhi, January 08: Beating the economic slowdown, India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) today declared dividend for the third consecutive year.
The ITDC CMD Sanjay Kothari presented a dividend cheque of Rs 7.90 crore for the year of 2008-09 to Tourism Minister Kumari Selja here.
This is very encouraging as the ITDC is declaring dividend despite the turmoil in tourism industry, said Selja.
For the financial year 2008-09, the dividend declared is Rs 8.58 crore.
“Earlier in the financial years 2006-07 and 2007-08, the Corporation declared a dividend of 20% in each year but despite the global meltdown during the financial year 2008-09, ITDC paid 10 per cent dividend on the paid up share capital to its shareholders,” said a senior ITDC official.
