Dr. Shah Faisal (M.B.B.S) belonging to Kashmir was the IAS topper in 2009. He addressed a gathering of the students of M.S. Education Center yesterday. He advised the students to work hard to pass civil service examinations. He pointed out that there are many technocrats who are joining civil services. He expressed surprise that Hyderabad has a large concentration of the Muslims but it has very little representation in Civil Services.
Giving the details of his preparation for IAS, he told that for obtaining better results, the candidate should concentrate on acquiring communication skills besides studying General Studies. For this purpose, they should study English Literature. In order to restore their past glory, the Muslims should adopt a positive and logical approach. They should improve their mental abilities and inculcate positive thinking. Muslim history has given us a heritage of one thousand years of scientific progress. He told that there was a time when people used to learn Arabic first for studying Chemistry.
Dr. Faisal told that hard work, value for time and the passion for competitive spirit at national level would alone lead them to success. He emphasized the Muslim students to adopt the profession of lawyers and journalists also besides joining technical courses.
Dr. Faisal told that given a chance, he would prefer to study law to become a judge. He told that for gaining mastery in Urdu, Knowledge of Persian and Arabic is essential to some extent. He advised the managements of schools and colleges to keep good and standard books of English language and literature in their libraries.
Replying to a question by students about discrimination, he told that now the time has changed. One should stop thinking in term of bias or communal discrimination. In fact, during the present time, favorable treatment is being given to the Muslims. To ensure the development of the Muslims, Governments are formulating Welfare Schemes for their uplift. Director of M.S. Education Center delivered welcome address.
