Every word of the Quran is a miracle. The miraculous feature of this book is there is no appropriate substitute for any word mentioned in the Quran.
It is a good fortune of the scientists that their research findings are compatible with the revelations of the Quranic verses. If any scientific theory is not compatible with the Quran, it may be a false theory but the thoughts mentioned in the Quran, it may be a false theory but the thoughts mentioned in the Quran are not false.
If the Science of today has not been able to testify some of the truths mentioned it is possible that the future knowledge of Science may prove it right.
These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Wasi Ahmed Nomani, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India while delivering a lecture in Siasat office yesterday on “The growth of a child in the womb of his mother”. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, editor Siasat presided over the function. Mr. Nomani told that 1430 years ago Quran has mentioned six stages of growth of a child in mother’s womb. Modern Science has testified these facts now.
According to the Quran, the first stage of conception of pregnancy is the introduction of the Sperm of a man in the Ovum of the woman. In the course of six days, sperm enters into the ovum and transforms itself into an egg. It has a heart and blood circulation. Its volume is 0.6 mm. In the third stage, after the completion of 22 years period, heart starts beating slowly and blood circulation starts. In the fourth stage the formation of backbone commences. In three months time, the formation of all the organs of the body begins.
After the formation of the skeleton, mounting of flesh starts. At this stage, the child which is formed in this stage, the child which is formed in the womb of the mother is like a monkey. It starts transforming itself into the form of a human being. When the entire body is formed, it takes birth on completion of nine months.
Mr. Nomani told that all these stages of child birth have already been mentioned in the Quran. The scientists explored these facts half a century back after performing research. Quran mentioned that the child grows in its mohter’s womb in three dark addresses.
He told that the first shape of a child is like a leech for which the Quran uses the word “Alaq” which is the lump of blood. The next stage is worded an “Mudgha” in the Quran.
It is the miracle of the Quran that whatever word it uses, has no substitute. He explained that in Arabic, the loof of meat is called “Mudgha” which is a piece of meat which has been crunched by teeth and it is the embossing of the teeth marks. Science testifies to this fact that the early formed shape of a human being resembles crunched meat.
Mr. Nomani explained that for the determination of male or female sex, male is totally responsible & woman has no role in it. Science tells us that the chromosomes found in the ovum of a woman bear only unisexual genes, that is X and Y. When X Chormosomes of man fertilize X Chromosome of woman, female child is born. If Y Chromosome of man fertilize X Chromosome of woman, then boy is born. In this way, for the birth of a male or female child, man is wholly responsible.
About the formation of male or female child, the Quran says that whatever genes man drops in the womb of a woman, they determine the sex of the child. Some people have misunderstanding that Allah only knows whether the boy or the girl is growing in the womb of mother whereas the sex of the child could be detected with help of ultrasoonography.
The Quran says that Allah knows, when will the Doomsday occur and who is growing in the womb of mother. It only means that Allah knows about the nature of the person growing in the womb as to how he would behave when he or she is born.
Today, Science believes about all the programmes of action in the world. Every event occurring in the world gets recorded and preserved. The Quran has many verses in which Allah says, there is no living being on which he has not assigned any observer or invigilator.
About the uniqueness of fingerprints, the Quran says that “We will rectify the tips of your fingers on the Doomsday which will identify who you are”. In the year 1880, it was testified that the thumb impressions and finger prints of each person are different. He also explained that the last part of the vertebral column called coccyx is eternal or immortal. He compared it when the statements in the Quran about the resurrection of persons on the Doomsday.
Moualana Ilyas Nadvi of Bhatkal while addressing the gathering on this occasion told that it is not enough if we know Allah. As the welfare community, it is our bouden duty that we should communicate our knowledge to others. He also said that it is not enough if we recite the Quran with meaning because it won’t be helpful for our salvation. He told that many heretics used to think that the Quran is not the word of Allah but authored by Prophet Mohammed (SAWS). He told that we should proclaim that Allah alone is the Lord of the Universe and we should propage Islam among the non-Muslims.
