The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday hit back at the Trinamool Congress for targetting party chief Amit Shah , saying it’s a call of despair by a desperate party that stands exposed today.
“The Trinamool Congress is desperate because of the fact that it stands exposed today because of the Saradha scam. Mamata Banerjee has been cornered. Under such a scenario, they are trying their best to save their own skin,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra told ANI here.
“It’s an irony that those who are corrupt till the core are cooking up stories to save their own image. The country has known what the TMC stands for, the country has realized as to how the TMC has ditched the aspirations of millions of people of Bengal, how most of their members were embroiled in the Saradha scam and that’s the reason as to why the people of Bengal will give the most befitting reply to Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress in the elections to come,” he added while commenting on the TMC’s accusations of the BJP chief’s alleged links with the Sahara Group.
Earlier today, the TMC MPs staged a protest outside the Parliament seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarification on Shah’s alleged links with the Sahara group.
Raising slogans, the TMC lawmakers were seen holding a red book with Sahara inscribed on it.
The TMC’s outcry against the BJP chief follows his visit to Kolkata yesterday where he lashed out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. (ANI)
