Desecration in Medchal Church, including Sarpanch 22 arrested

Hyderabad: There is an incident of desecration of church in Medchal. Police immediately reacted within 2 hours and arrested 22 persons. Cases have been registered under serious sections of IPC. Christian community was anxious after this incident.

According to the reports, a church located at Gudmakund village in Kesara Mandal of Medchal districts was attacked and the idols were desecrated. The persons arrested include Sarpanch, Dy. Sarpanch and two Govt. school teachers. ACP of Kushaiguda district, Syed Rafiq told that as soon as police got information, the accused have been arrested. It is mentioned that one Mr. George Reddy was constructing a church on his three acre land for which he had not taken permission from any authority. He started this construction under a pretext of constructing a function hall. After getting this news, villagers including Sarpanch, Dy. Sarpanch and others assembled on Saturday. They reached George Reddy’s farm house and dismantled the under construction building. The arrested persons are Anil Kumar, Sarpanch, M. Rajalinga, Dy. Sarpanch, D. Venkat Reddy, Govt. teacher, C. Yadagiri, Govt. teacher and others.
