Tension gripped Mallepally after some miscreant desecrated the Holy
Quran at Mallepally. It is said that the incident occurred during ‘baraat’ a wedding procession of Mangoda community.
Some miscreants reportedly tore the pages of the Holy Quran and threw them on road amidst beating of drum during baraat procession. On learning this, the locals gathered at the spot. Habeeb Nagar police also reached the spot and removed the Holy pages from there.
In a while the situation became tense due to which police deployed Rapid Action Force at tension gripped area. Inspector Habeeb Nagar Mr. R Sanjay Kumar has registered a case in this connection and further investigations are on.
