Dermatologist denies giving dangerous drugs to Jackson

Los Angele, July 09: Michael Jackson’s long time dermatologist, Arnold Klein who has been linked to the investigation of the pop icon’s death has denied giving him dangerous drugs.

Dr. Klein blasted reports that he supplied the ‘King of Pop’ with powerful prescription drugs and insisted that he attempted to ween the singer off his alleged addiction in an interview on Wednesday on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Jackson died on June 25 after suffering a suspected cardiac however a leaked autopsy report suggested that when the singer collapsed, his arms were riddled with injection marks, and their veins had collapsed, both characteristics said to be found in intravenous drug users.

Since then reports have suggested that prescription drugs played a part in Jackson’s death.

Los Angeles police investigating Jackson death have recruited the help of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) after discovering a number of pill bottles in his rented Holmby Hills, Hollywood mansion.

Several doctors who were known to have treated Jackson as a patient have been questioned since then but Klein insists he was not one of the “criminals” who enabled Jackson’s alleged habit and stated that he was on the list of doctors being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

“I was not one of the doctors who participated in giving him overdoses of drugs or too much of anything. In fact, I was the one who limited everything, who stopped everything,” Dr. Klein said.

Dr. Klein claimed that he warned Jackson about the dangers of strong drugs like Dilaudid and Propofol, branding them “poison”.

He also revealed that he saw Jackson just three days before his sudden death when the singer was in good health and high spirits as he showed off legendary moves in the dermatologist’s office.

“I saw nothing at that point that would make me worry whatsoever… He danced in my office. He danced for my patients,” Dr. Klein said.

The dermatologist, whose former assistant Debbie Rowe went on to marry Jackson and give birth to Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11, also dismissed rumours that he was the biological father of the two kids.

“Not to the best of my knowledge. All I can tell you is, best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children. But I am telling you, if push comes to shove, I can’t say anything about.”

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County coroner is waiting for toxicology test results — not due for at least another week — before determining what killed Jackson last month. The singer’s death certificate listed the cause of death as “deferred.”
