New Delhi [India]: The Income Tax (IT) Department and Inter State Crime Cell of the Delhi Police in a joint action on Wednesday seized unaccounted cash worth Rs. 64,84,000, of which Rs. 11,34,000 was in Rs. 2000 denomination.
The cash was seized from a real estate agent identified as Sukhbir Shokeen, Director of M/s Shokeen Real Estate Ltd.
Apart from this, the IT Department also seized Jewellery worth Rs. 1,06,57,235 from the agent’s possession.
Survey proceedings are also being carried out on the office premises of the company at Rangpuri in New Delhi.
Further inquiries are in progress by the IT department. (ANI)
