Hyderabad: Dept. of Minorities Welfare spent Rs. 720 crore during this financial year and the rumours of non-release of budget are false. Mr. Omer Jaleel further told that when compared to the last year, the release of budget was encouraging this year.
It may be mentioned that Govt. had allocated Rs. 1204 crore for the Dept. of Minorities Welfare. So, far Govt. release Rs. 964 crore. For various schemes, Rs. 550 crore were spent. Bills worth Rs. 171 crore are in the process of passing. He also told that he is continuously in contact with the Dept. of Finance. He was hopeful that by 31st March, more amount would be released and the Dept. of Minorities Welfare would cross the expenditure of expenditure of 900 crore. Rs. 150 crore was allocated for Shadi Mubarak Scheme, out of which Rs. 90 crore has been spent.
