New Delhi: The IT Department taking strict “sustained action plan” against illicit properties has attached assets worth over Rs 1,833 crore as Benami assets so far according to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).
Sushil Chandra CBDT Chairman said the Income Tax Department will continue to this probe into benami asset holders and take “strong” action them adding that this action “will not stop”.
He said, “I can assure you that this probe will not end. We are obtaining more data and information from all available avenues on such assets. More such instances will be identified and strong legal action will be taken”.
