District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has appealed to the citizens to send their complaints regarding suspicious cases of paid news of the contesting candidates to the email ID hydmcmc@gmail.com and send the SMS alerts to the mobile number 9550722063.
The DEO has informed that the expenditure of the contesting candidate in general elections should be transparent and there is every need to check for the measures that are taken to show the less expenditure by the candidate.
The DEO said that every advertisement that is being printed in print media or telecasted / broadcasted through electronic media should be pre-certified and without pre-certification no media office is supposed to print or telecast the advertisement. The DEO further said that any news item that is being paid in cash or kind will be treated as “paid item” and the expenditure will be credited in expenditure account of the concerned contesting candidate.
The Citizens of Hyderabad have been requested to lodge their complaints regarding suspicious paid items and advertisements without pre-certification to the above said email ID and send their SMS to 9550722063, the DEO said. He further appealed the citizens to pass on the information regarding issuing bulk SMS in support of contesting candidates or running a campaign in support of a particular candidate in social media like Face book and Twitter to the MCMC in above said forms so that the expenditure incurred for those will be credited to the expenditure accounts of the concerned candidates.
